
The educational objective of this program is the associate of applied science degree. The vocational objective of the Medical Assisting Program is to prepare graduates to work in doctors' offices, hospitals and other medical facilities, performing both administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a licensed health care practitioner. Graduates are eligible to directly challenge the AAMA Certification Examination for Medical Assistants for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential. This is the only medical assisting credential that is currently recognized by the American Medical Association.
