Applicants must present evidence of high school graduation from an accredited high school for any curriculum. For non-high school graduates, the GED equivalency will be substituted. It is desirable for applicants to have maintained a C average or better in high school.
A placement test is required to measure the level of academic skill achievement. Results from the test are used to assess the student's special needs and to establish ability grouping.
The admission procedure requires an exchange of information between the applicant and the College, which maintains a staff of representatives for this purpose. These representatives conduct a personal interview with each prospective applicant before any decision is made to submit an application for admission. During the interview, the representative will discuss the College's educational programs in relation to the applicant's career preferences, training needs, and individual motivations.
To qualify for acceptance by Miller-Motte Technical College, each applicant must fully meet the following general requirements.

Each applicant must:
- be interviewed by an admission representative;
- take a placement test to assess the student's special needs and ability grouping and meet minimum CPAT (Career Programs Assessment Test) composite scaled score of 120 (minimum of 140 for Medical Assisting and Surgical Technology);
- be beyond the age of compulsory high school attendance;
- provide an official transcript documenting his/her graduation from high school with a regular diploma or document his/her achievement of high school graduation equivalency;
- be of good moral character and conduct.

All applicants to allied health programs must complete a physical questionnaire documenting programmatic health requirements. Massage therapy applicants are required to obtain a professional massage before enrolling in this program. Documentation is on the honor system.
All material submitted to the College becomes the property of Miller-Motte Technical College and cannot be returned. After receipt of the application form, administration will schedule a date for orientation and will notify the applicant.
Upon completion of the necessary steps, each applicant will receive written notification of the action taken for admission within seven days.

Applicants who fail to demonstrate the ability to advance in their program of study without remediation (subtest score below 40) may be required to enroll in any developmental class(es) which may be required as a result of the evaluation of placement testing. (Individual campus locations may require higher subtest scores. Contact the Admissions Office for specific requirements). Students may be required to enroll in any combination of reading, English, and/or mathematics developmental classes. Developmental classes are in addition to the course requirements for any program. Students who require enrollment in developmental classes are informed when notified of their acceptance by the College and must schedule counseling sessions with the Director of Student Services.
